Over the past couple of lessons i have been testing ideas for my magazine logo! The top left is my first draft, i chose the font of the 'new' part due to it seeming like graffiti resembling a more urban vibe to the magazine, targetting the young audience i am aiming for. The Era part is in big bold letters and in the same font in each prototype, i feel this defines the main part of the title and adds a bold and stern feel to the whole magazine ( well it will when its finished!).
The bottom test, is what i will be using in my final, on the ERA section i have used a lens flare to resemble the sun coming up, in a sense dawning on the new eara, i also felt the NEW part looked too plain so i added some stripes of yellow into the text to make it more diverse but also to give the impression of something arriving, in this case the new ERA.
